For Anna’s second birthday we decided to take her to Edinburgh Zoo to see some “guckie’s” (Monkeys) in person. I took with me the following cameras: – Polaroid OneStep, PX600 Silver Shade – Zeiss Ikon Nettar, Ilford HP4, 400ASA – Halina Viceroy, Ektachrome 100 Plus – FED 3, FujiColor Superia 400ASA – Panasonic DMC-GF1 with [...]

Low Light, Low Sleep
When Anna awoke around 3am this morning screaming hysterically until she suppressed by milk my chances of getting back to sleep were limited. The weird part was when she awoke I was dreaming about the Harman Ilford ‘Titan’ pinhole camera and about making a 103mm lens for it. I dreamt the UNC path I saved [...]

GF1 Late Evening Streets
These shots were taken form my car on the way home a few nights ago when the traffic gripped the car. – Coming up next or whenever I get round to it – Polaroid negative reclamation! I’ve got freakin’ tonnes of them. Maybe this time they’ll look weird and interesting!

My Backup
Maybe the ‘Backup’ is purely an FPP thing or they just gave it a name but its where you have a wee camera in reserve if your main camera is between rolls or something like that. The GF1 is now officially my new backup, it used to be my iPhone but it’s definitely now my [...]

Halloween Snaps
Here are a few snaps form the Halloween party at the weekend past. I had my Polaroid 104 Land Camera with me but didn’t take many shots with it (that came out) because I spent most of my time chasing around and dead-lifting 3-10 year olds throwing them into a netted trampoline. In the process [...]

Assorted Digital, iPhone and GF1 – Jupiter 8 Lens
Back to a few more digital shots with the M39 mount adapter, Jupiter 8 Lens and iPhone. I might invest in another lens mount for the GF1. Dred242 recently blogged about using a CCTV lens on his Micro Four Thirds camera so if I can find a cheap interesting lens which has a mount adapter [...]

More GF1 with M39 Mount Lenses
I experimented a little more last night with the GF1 and my Jupiter 8 lens and a few more shots this morning with my Industar 61 lens. Just as I thought I was getting to grips with the camera it started making no sense. At one point it appeared as if one could jump from [...]

GF1 with the Jupiter 8 and a M39 Lens Mount
I’ve snapped some shots with the GF1 using my Jupitor 8 lens, though it’s taken a few shots to get the settings right but I think I’m almost happy now. The problem I do have is with the preview screen. It auto compensates between light and dark environments. If I point my camera at a [...]

Panasonic DMC-GF1 **** Reborn! ***
I should have bought this lens mount long before I finally did. It’s so refreshing to use a real lens with manual focus and aperture. As I’ve said before on my GF1 Flickr set blurb and elsewhere, the thing that let this camera down, for me, was the standard Panasonic ‘automatic’ lenses. The focus ring [...]

Inside Mirazozo, Zorki 4K (film)
These are the Mirazozo shots I took with the Zorki 4K. It was a wee bit tricky at first to focus in the strange light using the rangefinder but I think I got the hang of it. The photo of Anna and I (Anna didn’t like MIrazozo so much) was taken by Lou but I [...]
