Urbanite

What the hell is Urban photography? It’s such a broad brush I find it hard to narrow down and I guess everyone has their own idea of what it is. If it covers everything within the confines of a man-made city or town then wouldn’t that cover everything in the daily lives of anyone living [...]

Vice-roi et EKTACHROME

The Halina Viceroy is such a basic camera with very few options, f8 or f16 and 1/60 or Bulb with a fixed focal distance. It takes 120 roll film and I suspect you can also get an internal insert to half the square image since there are two windows on the back for two frames. [...]

Photo-Weekend

I had high hopes this weekend to shoot lots of film and start developing black and white, turn Coke to Pepsi and finally make world peace a reality. Well, I’m managing to do the first part ok but still no developing yet I’m afraid. I do have my packet of ID11 developer, Rapid Fixer, a [...]

Low Light/Long Exposure – GF1

Lately I’ve been trying a lot of low light experiments with the external digital shutter-release of course with mixed results at first but I think I’m getting near to something interesting now. I went out and about and in and around, mostly using the ghastly manual focus on these Lumix lenses which is always unpleasant [...]

C-41, A Restrospective

In my first home, Tetinal, C-41 kit I managed to get through approximately 31 rolls of 120 film and 13 spools of 35mm film when the last roll was reduced to mushy pea soup. The first roll I home developed was a roll of FujiFilm taken with a Diana F+ as it was probably wasn’t [...]

Holyrood Park, Halina Viceroy

Like I’d said in my Mamiya post a few days ago I had three rolls of Kodak B&W 400ASA film lying about since around July, two from the Mamiya Universal and one from the Halina Viceroy. They’ve been developed and here they are, these are my favourites out of twelve shots: To see more of [...]

Halina Viceroy, Expired Kodak Ektachrome 160T Colour Reversal

This roll was taken last Sunday (3 July 2011) and completed mid week but I’d managed to loose it under a wooden chopping board for about 4 days. Kodak Ektachrome 160T, colour reversal 120 film, expired and developed using C-41 chemicals.

Halina Landscapes, Expired FujiFilm Neopan 400

This was my first C-41 XP2 black and white film developing. Basically it’s black and white film that can be developed as black and white using the C-41 process (a colour film developing process). The film expired in 2007 and I hoped to see some weird colour shifts but it pretty much stayed black and [...]

Halina Urban, 19 June 2011

Some shots from yesterday using the Halina Viceroy. A bit blurry. Hmmm … Not so good. The version I took of this with the Mamiya Universal would’ve been better if it freakin’ came out but more on that later.

Halina Viceroy, FujiColor Pro 160S

Here are a few shots I took last night to test out a roll of 120 FujiColor Pro 160 ISO. I got 10 rolls from 7dayshop.com for £31, so £3.10 per roll, which is not too shabby and the shots look ok: There were a couple of shots where I didn’t quite get the shutter/aperture [...]
